Netflix Acquires Nipsey Hussle Documentary Directed By Ava DuVernay

Ava DuVernay documentary on Nipsey Hussle has been picked up by Netflix for eight-figures, according to Deadline. Netflix won the bidding war against other high profile distributing companies.

The documentary is co-produced by DuVernay’s ARRAY distribution agency and Hussle’s Marathon Films.

Duvernay was reportedly chosen for the director by Nipsey’s estate due to the work she did with 13th and When They See Us.

The news a documentary on Nipsey Hussle being produced arrives a little over two weeks after Nipsey Hussle won two Grammys this year.
