Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff, best known for her role as Kaye Morgan on Baywatch and as the ex-wife of David Hasselhoff, was found dead in her Hollywood Hills home on Wednesday night. She was 62 years old.

Authorities confirmed that Bach-Hasselhoff died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No suicide note was found at the scene, leaving many unanswered questions about her final moments.

A Life in the Spotlight—And in the Shadows

Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff lived a life that straddled Hollywood glamour and personal struggles. She first stepped onto the big screen in Francis Ford Coppola’s Rumble Fish (1983), a film that, despite its moody, artistic ambition, didn’t exactly skyrocket her career. But television? That’s where she shined.

She landed roles in daytime soap operas like The Young and the Restless before finding a home on Baywatch, playing Kaye Morgan, the no-nonsense café owner who was everyone’s go-to for life advice (and let’s be real, some mild flirtation).

And of course, there was the marriage. Pamela met David Hasselhoff on the set of Knight Rider in the ‘80s, and the two tied the knot in 1989. They became one of Hollywood’s most recognizable couples, sharing two daughters, Taylor and Hayley, before their divorce in 2006. The split was messy—tabloids had a field day—but Pamela mostly kept things private, even as David’s struggles with alcohol made headlines.

Her Final Days and Heartbreaking Goodbye

Pamela’s death was discovered after family members became concerned when they couldn’t reach her. Police and emergency responders arrived at her Hollywood Hills home and found her lifeless body.

David Hasselhoff, now 71, released a statement expressing his family’s devastation. “This is a tremendous loss for our family,” he said. “We ask for privacy as we process this tragedy.”

It’s unclear what led to her decision, as no suicide note was left behind. However, fans quickly revisited her final Instagram post from New Year’s Eve, in which she expressed gratitude for her granddaughter and hope for the future—a bittersweet sign that perhaps even she didn’t see this coming.

A Complicated Legacy

Pamela’s career may have never hit A-list status, but she had it. That effortless ‘90s charisma, the beauty that screamed California cool, and an unshakable confidence even when Hollywood overlooked her.

But fame wasn’t always kind. While David’s career kept chugging along (sometimes for better, sometimes for cheeseburger-on-the-floor worse), Pamela faded from the spotlight. A few reality show appearances, some minor TV roles—but nothing major in the past decade.

Did she struggle with being a forgotten face in a town that only loves you when you’re hot? Did the pressures of aging in Hollywood, where women over 40 become invisible, take their toll? We may never know.

The Aftermath: What Comes Next?

The LAPD has yet to comment further on the details of Pamela’s death, but fans, friends, and family are left grappling with the loss.

In the wake of tragedies like this, it’s a reminder that mental health struggles don’t always announce themselves. If you or someone you know is struggling, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7 for support.

As for Pamela, she may be gone, but her legacy lives on in the waves of Baywatch, in the nostalgic glow of ‘90s television, and in the hearts of those who loved her.
