Peacock and Sky have unveiled the first tantalizing glimpse of their upcoming series, The Day of the Jackal, starring Academy Award-winner Eddie Redmayne. The electrifying teaser made its grand debut during the opening ceremony of the [Year] Olympic Games, sending shockwaves through audiences worldwide.
Based on the classic thriller, the series reimagines the iconic story of a highly skilled assassin known only as the Jackal. Redmayne takes on the challenging role of the enigmatic killer, while Lashana Lynch stars as the tenacious British intelligence officer determined to hunt him down. The high-octane cat-and-mouse chase promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats as it unfolds across the breathtaking landscapes of Europe.
Joining the star-studded cast are Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura, Jonjo O’Neill, Nick Blood, Sule Rimi, and Florisa Kamara. The series is written and executive produced by Ronan Bennett, with additional executive producers including Gareth Neame, Nigel Marchant, Sam Hoyle, Sue Naegle, and Brian Kirk. Redmayne also serves as an executive producer, while Frederick Forsyth, author of the original novel, is on board as a consulting producer.
The Day of the Jackal is set to premiere on Peacock in the US and Sky in the UK on November 7, 2024.
