Rights for Michael Jackson movie granted to producer Graham King -

According to Deadline, Michael Jackson’s estate has granted the rights to Graham King, who produced Bohemian Rhapsody, to make a new film about the singer’s life. Some critics expressed concern that some of the more controversial elements of Jackson’s life may not be included in the film. King has hired John Logan, who wrote the screenplays for ‘Gladiator’ and ‘The Aviator’, to pen the script. According to Deadline Hollywood, the script will not sugarcoat any aspects of Jackson’s life, including the accusations of child sexual abuse against the singer. Though the project does not currently have a studio or distributor, it will no doubt not take long for it to receive both, as King has already enjoyed incredible success with producing biopics based on legendary musicians, with ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ grossing over $900 million worldwide and earning multiple Academy Award nominations. No official release date for the project has been announced.
