Rihanna’s fans have been eagerly waiting for new music since the release of her last studio album, Anti, in January 2016. The album, celebrated as a bold and genre-defying project, featured hits like “Work,” “Needed Me,” and “Love on the Brain.” Anti not only topped charts worldwide but also cemented Rihanna’s place as one of the most innovative artists of her generation.
Since Anti, Rihanna has graced fans with a handful of singles and features, but no full-length project. She’s released just a few tracks, including 2020’s “Believe It” with PARTYNEXTDOOR, and most recently, “Lift Me Up” and “Born Again,” both of which were part of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack in 2022. Despite these releases, the world remains thirsty for a proper album—one that would mark her ninth.
Fans have been vocal about their impatience, often flooding her social media with album inquiries. However, one recent interaction on Instagram truly stood out.
When a user named Lorenzo cheekily referred to Rihanna as “forehead” while asking for new music, the pop star didn’t hold back. She clapped back with razor-sharp wit, saying:
“Listen, Lorenzo! You ain’t cute enough to be calling me by my Black name, you dizzy f*!”
The comment quickly went viral, sending fans into a frenzy. Many praised Rihanna for her humor and unbothered energy, while others joked about Lorenzo’s bravery.
This playful yet fierce exchange only underscores Rihanna’s unshakable charisma. While fans may be desperate for a new album, it’s clear that Rihanna, who’s been busy with her beauty empire (Fenty Beauty), lingerie line (Savage X Fenty), and most recently, motherhood, remains in control of her timeline.
Until then, the Navy waits, hoping that their queen will soon grace them with R9. Whether or not she does, Rihanna has proven time and again that she’s in a league of her own—forehead jokes and all.
