Can you sue somebody for using your last name when they gave your name?

Well we all know there is nothing that Rihanna can’t do. The Barbados Goddess Rihanna uses her last name, Fenty, as the brand name for her businesses, such as her cosmetics company (Fenty Beauty) and lingerie lines (SavagexFenty). With that being said, the “Fenty” brand name is trademarked by her so her business and name doesn’t get abused.

TMZ is reporting that Rihanna is allegedly suing her father, Ronald Fenty because she claims “he recently started a talent development company in 2017 called Fenty Entertainment,” and is basically trying to profit off of her celebrity by using the brand’s name.

The site references documents that reportedly state that Rihanna says her dad and a business partner “falsely advertised themselves as her reps to solicit millions of dollars, including trying to book her for 15 shows in Latin America in December 2017 for $15 mil” without her signing off on it.

In addition, Riri reportedly tried to send him a cease and desist letter more than enough times telling him to stop the shenanigans, but he clearly did not and continued to capitalize off the likeness of her brand.
