American champion Sha’Carri Richardson cannot run in the Olympic 100-meter race after testing positive for a chemical found in marijuana. Richardson won the 100 at Olympic trials on June 19th.
Richardson told the TODAY Show she learned about her mother’s death during an interview and then ingested marijuana while in Oregon for the U.S. Olympic Trials. She tested positive at the Trials and has accepted a one-month suspension from USADA.
