Six Injured After Shooting Occured At A Park Near Aurora Central High School

Police are investigating after six teenagers were injured in a shooting at a park near Aurora Central High School on Monday, CBS Denver reports. The victims, ages 14 to 17, have been taken to the hospital. Police said they were searching for a suspect who was no longer at the park.

Police says one victim was self-transported to a hospital with minor injuries. Children’s Hospital Colorado confirms there were three patients there — all stable and reunited with their families.

All six victims are Aurora Central High School students, but the shooting was not at the school, Wilson says. She says there are “suspects” at large. “I need us all to be outraged and I need your help,” she says, calling for anyone to report any info they get to 720-913-7867.

All the victims’ parents have been notified, Wilson says. She says right now, hearing they are “non-life-threatening” injuries and that the one child is in surgery. Her understanding is drive-by shooting and possibly some people on foot.

Wilson believes there are multiples suspects but says she does not know a number of suspects. “We’re going to look at all different angles,” Wilson says. They have vehicle descriptions but she is not releasing them yet because want to be sure vehicles are connected.

“I’m hoping there are kids out there who know what happened. … I’m sure somebody out there knows something and I need them to come forward,” Wilson said.

Wilson says if people in the area have home cameras, to check them for any suspects or vehicles. She says all victims and their families are currently being “very cooperative.”

“Any information you have, no matter how small, we need it,” Wilson said. She says the school should be doing a controlled release now or shortly.
