Storm Reid has been cast as Idris Elba’s daughter in James Gunn’s ‘The Suicide Squad’

The young star of “A Wrinkle in Time,” actress Storm Reid, is being eyed to play the daughter of Idris Elba’s character in James Gunn’s upcoming “The Suicide Squad” for Warner Bros. Pictures.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” director Gunn also wrote the script to the project in which supervillains are recruited by the government to carry out secret missions.

Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney and Viola Davis are reprising their roles, while they are joined by Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior and possibly John Cena.

Peter Safran and Charles Roven are producing the film which aims to begin production around the new year ahead of an August 6th 2021 release.

Reid will next appear in Leigh Whannell’s “The Invisible Man” which films this August, is currently in both Netflix’s “When They See Us” and HBO’s “Euphoria” series,

Reid will begin filming Universal/Blumhouse’s “The Invisible Man” in the next few weeks. Reid’s other credits include best picture Oscar winner “12 Years a Slave,” Netflix limited series “When They See Us” and HBO series “Euphoria.”

In addition, she stars alongside David Oyelowo, Brian Tyree Henry and Mykelti Williamson in “Mean Creek” director Jacob Aaron Estes’ supernatural thriller “Don’t Let Go” which Blumhouse and others will release on August 30th. That film premiered at Sundance under the name “Relive”.
