R&B sensation SZA has confirmed her professional split from longtime manager Terrence “Punch” Henderson, co-president of Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE). The decision marks the end of a highly successful partnership that has spanned over a decade and propelled SZA into the upper echelons of contemporary music.

The singer took to social media to address the separation, expressing gratitude for their time together while urging fans to refrain from negativity. “And to be clear, I love Punch deeply! NO ONE should be attacking him or being cruel on my behalf,” SZA wrote. “Sometimes people grow apart, and that’s okay.”

SZA emphasized that the split is not a moment of celebration but a natural evolution in their professional journey. “Nothing to celebrate. The end of an era. I wish him the best, whatever his choices may be,” she added.

Under Punch’s guidance at TDE, SZA released her critically acclaimed albums Ctrl and SOS, both of which cemented her status as one of the most innovative voices in music today. SOS debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and stayed atop for ten nonconsecutive weeks, a rare feat for an R&B album.

While the news has left fans speculating about what lies ahead for both SZA and Punch, her statement makes it clear that the decision stems from personal growth and mutual respect. TDE has not yet issued an official comment on the matter.
