The House of Representatives has passed the Equality Act by a vote of 224-206.

The bill, which would ban discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, now moves to the Senate as proponents seek to make it the law of the land in the United States.

Taylor Swift celebrates The House passing the Equality Act in new tweet.

The singer supported the bill in 2019 by creating an online petition that now has over 800,000 signatures. She also encouraged fans to sign it in her music video for “You Need To Calm Down” and at the VMAs.
