Teyana Taylor released the video for her song “Still,” which pays homage to past civil rights struggles and current ones, tied together with the gripping audio of George Floyd begging for his mother as a police officer killed him.
‘Still’ includes speeches by Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. Taylor dresses as Black Panther Party co-founder Huey P. Newton and Malcolm X, as well as multiple victims of police violence, such as Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and others throughout the video.
The song was released on Taylor’s latest LP, The Album, which arrived on Juneteenth (June 19), a day commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. The Album includes guest spots from Erykah Badu, Missy Elliott, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Quavo, and more.
