The 355 Interview: Sebastain Stan and Simon Kinberg Talk Working Jessica Chastain

‘The 355’ follows the story of five highly classified international female spies joining forces together to take down a top-secret weapon which falls into the wrong hands. CIA agent Mason ‘Mace’ Brown played by Jessica Chastain puts together a rival German agent Marie (Diane Kruger), a former MI6 ally and smart computer specialist Khadijah (Lupita Nyong’o), and a skilled Colombian psychologist Graciela (Penélope Cruz) on a lethal, mission to retrieve the stolen weapon while also staying one-step ahead of a mysterious woman, Lin Mi Sheng (Bingbing Fan), who’s tracking their every move. Édgar Ramirez stars as Luis in the film and Sebastian Stan as Nick.

Agent Mason was tasked to take down the weapon in Paris with her partner Nick (Sebastain Stan) but something ends up happening causing Mace to have to seek extra help with this mission. Stan talked about how he has never seen a movie like this be put together in the caliber in the way that this film was put together. He also described how the women brought their A- game when it came to being on set shooting action-packed scenes.

The action packed film is directed by ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ director, Simon Kinberg. Chastain originally pitched the idea of a female spy movie to Kinberg and he agreed to direct as well as co-write the script.

The spy thriller portrays the women as intelligent and complex characters that will take the audience through the streets of Paris to Shanghai trying to work together to retrieve the stolen weapon. The screenplay is written by Theresa Rebeck and Kinberg, from a story by Rebeck. Presented by Universal Pictures in association with FilmNation Entertainment, ‘The 355’ is produced by Chastain and Kelly Carmichael for Chastain’s Freckle Films and by Kinberg for his Kinberg Genre Films. The film is executive produced by Richard Hewitt (Bohemian Rhapsody), Esmond Ren (Chinese Zodiac) and Wang Rui Huan.his Kinberg Genre Films. ‘The 355’ was originally scheduled to release last year in January 2021 until COVID-19 changed the premiere to the following year. The film will be released this Friday, January 7, 2022.
