If you don’t know Anitta, now you know
Since her breakout from Brazil six years ago, Anitta, a Grammy-nominated global superstar, has emerged as the forefront artist for a new generation of Latin American music.
Anitta’s debut single of 2022, “Envolver,” made history by becoming the most successful solo debut by a Brazilian artist on Spotify’s global chart, surpassing her previous record by reaching #1 on iTunes in 19 countries.
Additionally, she released her latest album, Versions of Me, in April 2022.
This album, consisting of 15 tracks, was released in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, and achieved the highest number of streams for a Brazilian artist on Spotify within a week. It has already amassed over one billion streams.
Anitta’s accomplishments continued as she won the MTV Music Video Award® 2022 in the “Best Latin” category for “Envolver” last summer, solidifying her place in history and earning her second Guinness World Record as the “first Brazilian solo artist to win the MTV VMA for Best Latin (Female).”
This victory coincided with Anitta’s remarkable performance, marking her debut on the VMAs broadcast with “Envolver.”
In 2019, she also secured the title of “Best Female Artist” at the Latin AMAs. Anitta’s talent was recognized at the MTV Europe Music Awards, where she received the accolade for “Best Brazilian Performance” for five consecutive years, starting in 2014.
Most recently, Anitta shared Funk Generation: A Favela Love Story, a trilogy inspired by Brazilian funk music, as a preview of her highly anticipated forthcoming album.
