Riverdale star Vanessa Morgan slams series’ treatment of Black characters and says she’s the least-paid series regular on the show.
Morgan went off on a Twitter user claiming that Ashleigh Murray, who played Josie on the show, “is a known diva and didn’t want to share the screen with other talented women,” and as a result, her character was written off the teen drama. https://twitter.com/vanessamorgan/status/1267113327731159042?s=21 Murray responded to Morgan with a tweet saying “thank you.” Asha Brom also chimed on how ‘Riverdale’ writers treated their black characters. https://twitter.com/ashabrom/status/1267921937780682752?s=21 “Lucifer” star Lesley Ann-Brandt shredded a Twitter user that pretty much claimed Morgan wanted more money for less work.My role on Riverdale has nothing to do with my fellow castmates/friends. They don’t write the show. So no need to attack them, they don’t call the shots & I know they have my back. ♥️

Morgan later talked about how black people are portrayed in media on her Instagram story. You sit your ass down and shut the fuck up. Black artists are paid less across the board. Yes. It’s money honey. We have families and mortgages and entire teams we pay doing the same damn job or more. @VanessaMorgan I love you ???? https://t.co/p4A1YMghTO
