Virginia Beach Chief of Police Jim Cervera confirmed 11 people died in the shooting at the municipal center Friday afternoon. In addition, Sentara Healthcare said six patients were admitted to local hospitals.
Five patients at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital are still in critical condition and one patient at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital is being picked up by Sentara Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance for transfer to the Level I Trauma Center at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
