Static Shock was of our favorites DC Comics superhero shows on Cartoon Network. Static Shock ran for four seasons, with 52 half-hour episodes in total. The show revolves around Virgil Hawkins, an African-American boy, who uses the secret identity of ‘Static’ after exposure to a mutagen gas during a gang fight which gave him electromagnetic powers.
The fact that Static Shock had cameos from NBA players, Lil Romeo, and the Justice League leaves many questions about why isn’t there a live action movie talk about Static Shock?
Static Shock was my generations Black Panther. We related to him and we had similar backgrounds going on in our neighborhoods. The show was so iconic and ahead of its time. The creativity and the way it mixed with so many cameos and crossovers were amazing.
Aubrey Joseph would make a perfect Static Shock. He already has the superhero background after starting with Olivia Holt in Marvels Cloak & Dagger. Since the show has been canceled he could make that switch to D.C. Universe.
