A Georgia teen’s remains were found by Douglasville Police and a private investigator in the woods near the Douglas County reservoir, which is close to the Arbor Place Mall. The teenager went missing three weeks prior after allegedly being denied mental health care from a facility.

17-year-old Yaron Kathuri was identified as the missing teenager. His parents told local media outlets that he was experiencing anxiety and signs of depression before the beginning of his senior year of high school.

Kathuri had a problem thinking clearly and focusing on school during the new school year. He started researching how to receive help for his symptoms and possible treatments. When he found a place that could help him, he got declined.

The family says insurance wouldn’t cover care for anxiety and possible depression and told Atlanta Black Star police were slow to investigate Kathuri’s disappearance. The cause of death is under investigation.

Yaron Kathuri had dreams of becoming an attorney or possibly running for office. He planned on studying political science in college. Some of his hobbies were playing the trumpet in his school band and grilling food for family and friends. He also wanted to own a food truck one day.
