A 19-year-old professional boxer is awake and talking after spending nearly 48 hours in a medically induced coma following a knockout loss over the weekend.

Isis Sio received medical attention for further checks after a knockout defeat to undefeated prospect Jocelyn Camarillo in a fight that lasted only 78 seconds on Saturday night. Sio was carried out of the ring on a stretcher and immediately taken to the hospital.

According to BoxingScene, which ProBox TV owns, Isis Sio spent the weekend in a medically induced coma and was awakened on Monday. ProBox TV states that Isis Sio has now been removed from the ventilator and is breathing on her own. She is not yet well but is recovering well.

The fight was stopped when Isis Sio was subjected to a series of hooks from Camarillo while stuck in the ropes. The hooks left Isis Sio folded in the corner and almost out of the ring.

The fight shocked the boxing fraternity and sparked many prayers and messages of encouragement for the injured Isis Sio. Camarillo asked fans to pray for Isis Sio after the fight.

Promoters ProBox TV and Most Valuable Promotions issued a statement immediately after the fight.

“On behalf of CEO Gary Jonas and the entire ProBox family, we are praying for a speedy recovery for Isis Sio. Ms. Sio is currently in a medically induced coma. Our thoughts are with her and her family at this very difficult time. Please join us in wishing for a full recovery.”

Sio now holds a record of 1-3 in her professional career. This fight was her third in four months. This was her second first-round knockout in her last two fights. She turned pro in September 2025. This makes her professional record six months old. She came out to fight two months after her first knockout. She came out to fight Camarillo, who is ranked No. 22 in the women’s light flyweight division by BoxRec. Her last opponent, Perla Bazaldua, was ranked No. 49 in the super flyweight division.

Sio is very young. She owns a gym near her hometown in Dickinson, North Dakota. She comes from a family of boxers. She trains with her dad. She is the only active female professional boxer from North Dakota.
