US Rep. Nancy Mace posted a clip from a podcast in response to backlash following her attendance at the University of South Carolina Gamecocks football game. According to Mace, even yelling “go C***S” became a controversial thing.
Her statement referred to the previously viral photo taken from the sidelines of a university football game where Mace was dressed up with the “Go C***S! IYKYK” message.
In her video, Mace sarcastically mentioned progressive terms like “your feelings are valid” and “unpacked your lived experiences,” and said she was still going to attend and enjoy college football games.
“In the stadium, one side yells go, one side yells cs,” Mace noted. “So it’s go, cs, go, cs, go, cs, okay? That’s the chant. That’s what they chant during the game.”
“And there was just a complete meltdown,” Mace said. “Not because I think because it was said, it’s because I said it, right? I’m not allowed to go to a football game. I’m not allowed to dress nicely and appropriately at a football game.”
Mace denied criticism of her clothing. “I was in a turtleneck, and people said I was inappropriately dressed,” she said. “I was told I had h***** shoes on. I had the most conservative shoes. There wasn’t an inch of skin other than my face and my hands and a little cutout here.”
“I was completely covered up. I was in a turtleneck, okay? Turtleneck. I was completely covered up. Only my hands and my face showed. I didn’t even show a sliver of ankle, man. Like nothing,” Mace said. “And apparently, you know, apparently I’m not allowed to do that. I guess I wasn’t covered up enough.”
“They said I wore the same clothes as I wore earlier in the week, which also wasn’t true,” she added. “Anyway, it was hilarious.”
According to Mace, this kind of reaction was exactly the goal she pursued. “I antagonize the left sometimes because I know how they’re going to overreact and I kind of love it,” she said. “It shows how crazy Democrats are. It shows how out of their e***ing mind they are.”
“If you do something very normal, very common, very mundane, this is what 80,000 people are doing on a Saturday, all of a sudden, I’m the one that needs a therapist, you know, with the people who are commenting behind a keyboard, angry at a woman they have never met,” she said. “Like I’m crazy, not the one behind the keyboard who are railing on a woman that they’ve never met.”
“It’s funny to me. Like it’s completely hilarious,” Mace said. “So I’m not going to stop posting when I leave Congress. Like I enjoy it. I enjoy it. And don’t forget, I know what I’m doing. So be mindful.”
Then Mace referred to Rep. Lauren Boebert, saying that “Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks also told his own side of the Lauren Boebert story.”
“Me and Cenk on the same page. Which, I just can’t believe that. But here we are,” Mace said. “I agree with him as often as I see a solar eclipse, which is like never. Maybe I’ve seen one solar eclipse in my life, maybe two.”
“But I said it online, and I’m going to say it here. Lauren Boebert should sue it,” she said. “You know, it’s hard as a public figure to have the grounds to sue, but her employees absolutely have the grounds to sue, and they should sue this guy into a different tax bracket.”
“The staffers are first in line. They have a real case, I believe, on defamation protections where politicians don’t,” Mace said. “You know, my denials cost me an eye roll and a tax. But the names of these kids in federal filings so a PAC could have a Tuesday, it’s wrong. These are very young people. They’re working really hard.”
“But the rule of the night is receipts. So no receipt equals, you know, trash,” she said. “So me, Lauren Boebert, or someone you can’t stand, we always carry the receipts.”
Then Mace talked about her debate with a Muslim friend the previous weekend over her recent statements. “All right. So talking about receipts, we’re talking about Sharia law receipts,” she said. “I got into a debate this weekend with a friend of mine who is Muslim and doesn’t like some of the things that I have said recently and wants me to apologize for it.”
“I’m not going to apologize for it, by the way. I’m not.” What’s happening in this country is wrong, Mace said.
Mace recalled how her friend shared her views on immigration. “Even he agrees Muslims should have been banned from being imported here, becoming citizens here 50 years ago,” she said. “Much too many, too many. And it’s too late, basically, is what he was saying.”
Mace further revealed that according to her friend, Sharia law isn’t in place in any Muslim country. “And he claimed that Sharia law doesn’t exist in a single Muslim country. And there are over 50 Muslim countries in the world,” she said.
“And, you know, I don’t have a law degree. I have a, you know, a podcast and I’m a member of Congress,” Mace said. “But this is an argument we hear from a lot of Muslims, that there is no Sharia law, that it doesn’t exist, that these other countries don’t practice Sharia. Well, that’s just not true.”
