In a moving tribute, Zendaya recalls “all of the boundless light, love, and joy he always managed to give us” about her “Euphoria” co-star Angus Cloud.
The 25-year-old actor Cloud, who played the drug dealer Fezco “Fez” O’Neill in the HBO series, passed away on Monday.
According to his publicist, he passed away at his family’s Oakland, California, home. The cause of death wasn’t revealed.
The family of Cloud said goodbye to “an artist, a friend, a brother, and a son” in a statement released by TMZ on Monday.
“Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss,” the family said. “The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
“We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone,” his family added.
“Words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus (Conor),” Zendaya shared in a Instagram post Tuesday. “I’m so grateful I got the chance to know him in this life, to call him a brother, to see his warm kind eyes and bright smile, or hear his infectious cackle of a laugh (I’m smiling now just thinking of it) I know people use this expression often when talking about folks they love…“they could light up any room they entered” but boy let me tell you, he was the best at it.”
“I’d like to remember him that way. For all of the boundless light, love and joy he always managed to give us. I’ll cherish every moment,” Zendaya added.
With the simple eulogy “forever family,” actor and boxer Javon “Wanna” Walton, who played Ashtray, Cloud’s Fezco’s adopted younger brother on the HBO series, posted a picture of the deceased actor to his Instagram Story. With the caption “rest easy brother,” Walton also posted a picture of the two sharing a hug on his Instagram account.
There was “no one quite like Angus,” according to Sam Levinson, the creator of HBO hit series Euphoria. “He was too special, too talented and way too young to leave us so soon,” Levinson added. “He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace and God bless his family.”
Chloe Cherry added to the tributes by posting an Instagram Story photo of Fez and her character Faye chilling, with the caption “Miss you bro.”
Sydney Sweeney paid tribute to her friend and co-star by posting a number of images and a video of her and Cloud. The actress who plays Cassie Howard penned the following caption for her Instagram post:
“Angus you were an open soul, with the kindest heart, and you filled every room with laughter. This is the hardest thing ive ever had to post, and im struggling to find all the words,” Sweeney said.
Sweeney’s Instagram caption also stated, “You will be missed more than you know, but I’m so blessed to have known you in this lifetime, and I’m sure everyone who has ever met you feels the same. This heartache is real and I wish we could’ve had one more hug and 711 run. All my love is with you.”
The actress who plays Maddy Perez, Alexa Demie, shared a broken heart emoji with a dark background on her Instagram Story.
Barbie Ferreira, who plays Kat Fernandez in the series, posted a portrait of Cloud on Instagram with the caption, “I love you so much. you will be missed tremendously.”
Storm Reid, Zendaya’s character Rue’s sister on “Euphoria,” posted a clip from an episode of the show with the caption, “the tears just won’t stop.”
Nika King, who plays Zendaya and Storm Reid’s mother in Euphoria, also paid tribute to Angus Cloud on Instagram.
“We did our season 1 promo together and got a chance to really chop it up. One of the most genuine, laid back, beautiful spirit in this crazy industry…and that magnetic smile. I’m so thankful to have met you and hear your wild stories about Oakland. The Instagram post continues, “You are loved and missed my friend (@anguscloud).”
Eric Dane, who played Cal Jacobs, the father of Jacob Elordi’s Nate, wrote on his Instagram Story on Monday evening that Cloud “was a one off,” adding, “I’m truly sad.”
Before being cast in “Euphoria,” Cloud hadn’t done any acting. He was observed by casting scout Eléonore Hendricks as she passed him on the street in New York. Cloud initially resisted, thinking it was a con. After a meeting with the casting director Jennifer Venditti, the show’s creator Sam Levinson eventually added him as a co-star for the first two seasons of the show alongside Zendaya. Filming for Euphoria’s third season has not yet started.
At the age of 25, Angus Cloud, a star of the HBO series Euphoria, passed away.
In a statement to TMZ, Cloud’s family confirmed his death. “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother, and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”
“Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter, and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter, and love for everyone. In addition to being his Hollywood debut, Cloud’s breakthrough role as Fezco on the HBO series came about as a result of a casting agent approaching him on the street; at the time, Cloud was employed at a restaurant in Brooklyn.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cloud claimed that the show’s creator Sam Levinson decided to keep his character around even though he was originally “supposed to die in the first couple of episodes.”
Although Fez’s storyline involving Maude Apatow’s Lexi became a fan favorite, his future on the show was uncertain after he was shot in the stomach during a SWAT raid in the Season 2 finale. Despite being picked up for a third season, Euphoria has not yet begun filming.
Additionally, Cloud made an appearance in the music videos for Noah Cyrus, Juice WRLD, Becky G, and Karol G. He was set to play the lead in an upcoming monster movie from Radio Silence that is scheduled to hit theaters in April 2024.
He also developed a reputation for his fashion sense at runway shows, and most recently, he was chosen for a Puma advertisement.
Zendaya has re-negotiated her deal with HBO for ‘Euphoria,’ according to Puck News.
The 26-year-old two-time Emmy-winning actress will now be paid close to a million dollars, per episode, for starring and producing the show. The deal will reportedly make her one of the current highest-paid actresses on television.
‘Euphoria’ season 3 will begin filming in the second half of 2023, according to Vogue Magazine.
The upcoming season will not feature Barbie Ferreira, which many figured since she rarely received screen time in season 2. She allegedly didn’t see eye to eye on set with the series creator Sam Levinson. Plus, they were multiple complaints by cast members and staff about their grueling work day. Ferreira told the world about her exit from ‘Euphoria’ on her Instagram story on August 24, 2022.
She says, “After four years of getting to embody the most special character Kat. I’m having to say a very teary-eyed goodbye. I hope many of you could see yourself in her as I did and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today. I put all my care and love into her, and I hope you guys could feel it. Love you, Katherine Hernandez.”
The HBO series is the most-tweeted-about show of the decade in the U.S., with more than 30 million tweets related to the show during the second season, Twitter reveals.
Sam Levinson’s HBO series was averaging 16 million viewers for its second season, at the time, was the network’s second-most watched the show since 2004, trailing only Game of Thrones.
Barbie Ferreira will not return for the third season of HBO’s ‘Euphoria,’ which many sensed that was coming after rumours started speculating that her and the creator Sam Levinson weren’t seeing eye to eye earlier this year.
Ferreira made the official announcement on her Instagram story earlier today. She said, “After four years of getting to embody the most special character Kat, I’m having to say a very teary-eyed goodbye. I hope many of you could see yourself in her as I did and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today. I put all my care and love into her and I hope you guys could feel it. Love you, Katherine Hernandez.”

The ‘Euphoria’ star reportedly stormed off the set multiple times last season due to ‘strong creative differences’ with creator Sam Levinson over her storyline.
The Daily Beast reported that Ferreira walked off set due to the gruesome long workdays that could stretch from 15 to 17 hours as Sam Levinson rarely came to set with a shot list during production for ‘Euphoria’ season 2.
Ferreira character Kat had very little screen time in season 2. Kat went from being one of their most prominent characters in season 1 to pretty much being in the shadows in season 2.
Skins star Kaya Scodelario reacts to HBO’s Euphoria in new TikTok:
“Watching euphoria for the first time thinking this is crazy for 17-year-olds then remembering what I was doing on TV at 14 … Will always be grateful. But yeah safeguarding really wasn’t a thing back then…”
Scodelario portrayed Effy Stonem in Skins. The show had heavy storylines lined with subjects comparable to melancholy, consuming issues, PTSD, sexuality, substance abuse, loss of life, and bullying. Many call it Euphoria before Euphoria. The show brought us Dev Patel, Daniel Kaluuya, Nicholas Hoult, and Scodelario.
