HBO Max announces programming coming to the platform this April, including the premiere of the limited series LOVE & DEATH (4/27), based on a true story of Candy (Elizabeth Olsen) and Pat Montgomery (Patrick Fugit) and Betty (Lily Rabe) and Allan Gore (Jesse Plemons) – two churchgoing couples enjoying their small town Texas life… until an extramarital affair leads somebody to pick up an axe.
In the explosive and hilarious fourth and final chapter of BARRY (4/16), Cousineau (Henry Winkler) is hailed as a hero as Barry’s (Bill Hader) arrest has shocking consequences. It’s all been leading up to this.
SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE (4/23) returns for its second season, following Sam (Everett), a true Kansan on the surface but, beneath it all, struggling to fit the hometown mold. This season reminds us that families are hard, even fun ones. Sam and Joel (Jeff Hiller) have settled into a comfy routine. But nothing stays the same forever.
The narrative sketch comedy series A BLACK LADY SKETCH SHOW (4/14) returns for its fourth season. It features a core cast of Black women living relatable and hilarious experiences in a magical reality that subverts traditional expectations.
100 FOOT WAVE (4/16) returns to Nazaré, Portugal—with stops in Hawaii and California—for a heart-pounding and adrenaline-filled second season following big wave legend Garrett McNamara, his world-class surfing peers, and some surprising newcomers as they continue to push the boundaries of their sport and the limits of their minds and bodies.
An existential and irreverent animated comedy series, FIRED ON MARS (4/20)explores the precarious relationship between work and self… light years away from Earth. Jeff Cooper (Luke Wilson) has it all: a fulfilling career as the graphic designer for space start-up Mars.ly, a relationship with his soon-to-be Red Planet-bound girlfriend, Hannah, and… well, maybe that’s it. But when his bosses unceremoniously eliminate his role, Jeff finds himself jobless and unable to return to Earth. Adrift aboard the sprawling office colony, Jeff must reinvent himself to find meaning in a dangerous, alien, yet all-too-familiar corporate landscape.
In the mid-season premiere of the final season of TITANS (4/13), the Titans – except for Gar – are returned to the Temple of Trigon and rush to find Sebastian and Mother Mayhem before Sebastian summons Trigon. Along the way, they encounter a prophecy that may require Kory to make a huge sacrifice to save the world. In the final episodes, the Titans enter an epic battle to save Kory and the world.

HBO Max announces programming coming to the platform this March including the season 4 premiere of SUCCESSION (3/26), where the sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech visionary Lukas Matsson moves ever closer. The prospect of this seismic sale provokes existential angst and familial division among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will look like once the deal is complete. A power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed.
Months after the Dodson case has come to an end, the scion of a powerful oil family is brutally murdered. PERRY MASON (3/6) follows Perry (Matthew Rhys), Della (Juliet Rylance), and Paul (Chris Chalk) as they find themselves at the center of a case that will uncover far-reaching conspiracies and force them to reckon with what it truly means to be guilty.
From the brilliant new voice of Cash Carraway, RAIN DOGS (3/6) is an unconventional love story between a working class single mom, her 10-year-old daughter, and a privileged gay man. The dark comedy stars Daisy May Cooper, Jack Farthing, Ronke Adekoluejo, Adrian Edmondson, and Fleur Tashjian in her debut role, as a dysfunctional family on the fringes of society attempting to go straight in a crooked world.
ALL THE BEAUTY AND THE BLOODSHED (3/19) is an epic, emotional, and interconnected story about internationally renowned artist and activist Nan Goldin told through her slideshows, intimate interviews, groundbreaking photography, archival family snapshots, and rare footage of her fight to hold the Sackler family accountable for the opioid overdose crisis. The Academy Award®, DGA, and BAFTA-nominated documentary originally debuted at the 2022 Venice International Film Festival, where it was awarded the Golden Lion.
MARLON WAYANS: GOD LOVES ME (3/2), the latest special from comedian Marlon Wayans, delivers a hilarious hour-long performance, unleashing his spot-on impressions and fearless physical comedy to address one of the most infamous recent events in pop culture – “the slap” that took place at the 94th Academy Awards® ceremony. A daring tour-de-force, this special is a hysterical yet thoughtful exploration of friendship, family, mistakes, and redemption.
MARIACHIS (3/2) follows Rosendo Cuevas’ life changes when he begins to show symptoms of Alzheimer’s. To help him, his family revives Rosendo’s musical past and creates a mariachi group, but betrayals and ghosts return and as the group’s popularity grows, more secrets come to light.
ONLY YOU: THE ANIMATED SHORTS COLLECTION (3/23): As part of the HBO Max x Warner Bros. Discovery Access Animated Shorts Program, a diverse group of underrepresented artists brings their tales to life with eight original adult animated shorts. From a high-stakes Wall Ball tournament in Coney Island to a redemptive odyssey through the Pacific Northwest, to a psychological showdown with a health-conscious vampire, these stories cross multiple genres, including horror, comedy, and fantasy. A visually exhilarating and emotion-fueled journey, these shorts welcome us into the hearts, minds, and communities of the next generation of storytellers.

The show is an official selection of the 2023 SXSW Film & TV Festival. This riveting drama, written by David E. Kelley and directed by Lesli Linka Glatter, tells the true story of Candy and Pat Montgomery and Betty and Allan Gore – two churchgoing couples enjoying their smalltown Texas life… until an extramarital affair leads somebody to pick up an axe.
The cast includes Elizabeth Olsen, Jesse Plemons, Lily Rabe, Patrick Fugit, Krysten Ritter, Tom Pelphrey, Keir Gilchrist, and Elizabeth Marvel.
The limited series is co-produced by Lionsgate and executive producers: David E. Kelley (who writes the series) through David E. Kelley Productions; Nicole Kidman and Per Saari through Blossom Films; Lesli Linka Glatter (who directs the first four and final episodes); Scott Brown and Megan Creydt through Texas Monthly; Matthew Tinker; Michael Klick and Helen Verno.
LOVE & DEATH got inspired by the book “Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs” and a collection of articles from Texas Monthly (“Love & Death in Silicon Prairie,” Part I & II).
HBO Max announces programming coming to the platform this month, including the Oscar®-nominated film EMPIRE OF LIGHT (2/7). The film, directed by Sam Mendes, is about the power of human connection during turbulent times. Hilary (Olivia Colman), a cinema manager struggling with depression, and Stephen (Micheal Ward), a new employee longing to escape the provincial town where he faces daily adversity find a sense of belonging and experience the healing power of music, cinema, and community.
Oscar®-nominated HBO documentary ALL THAT BREATHES (2/7), directed by Shaunak Sen, follows two brothers who devote their lives to the quixotic effort of protecting the black kite, a majestic bird of prey essential to the ecosystem of New Delhi that has been falling from the sky at alarming rates.
PUPPY BOWL XIX (2/12), the original and longest-running call-to-adoption TV event returns for its 19th year on Animal Planet, TBS, and streaming on HBO Max and discovery+. The three-hour television matchup will showcase more puppies, more animal shelters and rescues, and more inspiring adoption stories than ever before as the puppy players from Team Ruff and Team Fluff take to the gridiron in the Puppy Bowl stadium to win the Wayfair “Lombarky” trophy.
LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER (2/19) returns for its tenth season for more satirical, insightful, and meticulously researched looks at current events in the U.S. and around the globe. The weekly series features Oliver’s hilarious, expertly honed perspective on today’s pressing political, social, and cultural issues, as well as lesser-reported topics that both inform and entertain. Shot in New York, season ten features the show’s weekly topical insights, signature deep dives, and distinctive comedy pieces.
Legendary comedian and podcaster Marc Maron stars in his first-ever HBO comedy special filmed in front of a live audience at New York City’s Town Hall. Over a hilarious and deeply personal hour, Maron explores such universal topics as getting older, antisemitism and faith, and the superiority of having cats over children – especially during the pandemic. The comedian also opens up about the loss of his partner in 2020 and reestablishing his complicated relationship with his father.
