15-year-old Gabby Portis experienced a series of racial attacks while attending International School of Indiana.
Portis was sent a picture on Snapchat of someone holding a cotton plant and under it was the words ‘when you ask a black girl to prom,’ while some of the students got suspended for their racist behavior the harassment continued to happen.
Gabby Portis asked International School of Indiana if she could attend school virtually to prevent some of the racist attacks and the school denied her. Portis has left the school due to these racist attacks.

A high school biology teacher has resigned after Deer Creek School District uncovered evidence that she utilized her Google Docs to send out sexual messages to a 15-year-old student, according to police reports.
The biology teacher was identified as Sarah Hull-Degroat. The school district found out about the messages between Hull-Degroat and the student on December 2nd. The docs showed she began communicating with the student in October.
The school district uses a system that alerts district officials when potential threats and signs of danger, including cyberbullying, internet predators, depression, suicidal thoughts and sexting.
Sarah Hull-Degroat was initially placed on administrative leave by the district for further investigation and taken into custody by the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department.
The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office revealed that she sent sexual messages and topless photos of herself to the student.
The parents of students in Sarah Hull-Degroat’s class were made aware of the incident but Lacy Rice, a parent of one of the Deer Creek told Fox 25 that administrators have not released any district-wide communications regarding the situation.
On Monday, Sarah Hull-Degroat submitted her resignation at 5:08 p.m. to the Deer Creek School District.
Sarah Hull-Degroat got arrested and charged for facilitating sexual conduct with a minor. Her bond got set at $50,000 and she was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
Alyssa Shaw, a 7th grade student at Lavaca Middle School in Arkansas speaks about the racism she has been enduring by her other classmates.
Shaw was hearing sarcastic “Black Lives Matter” and “Rosa Parks” chants while approaching the school bus to go home, 40/29 News reports. She even claims the students called her the n-word.
“There was nothing you could have done. You can’t even hear your own voice. I didn’t think it was funny at all because it was like deliberate disrespect and they tried to cover it up as a joke,” Shaw said.
In the disturbing video, you can hear a bus full of students yelling “Rosa Parks” while heading towards the bus. The bus driver didn’t tell the students to stop in the video as well.
After dealing with racism on the bus, Alyssa Shaw claimed two boys harassed her and her friend when they got off the bus to say another racist “Rosa Parks” joke.
“When we got off the bus, two boys came behind me and my friend and asked why I didn’t come to the back of the bus? ‘We had a seat reserved for you Mrs. Rosa Parks,” Shaw told KARK 4 News.
Alyssa Shaw’s mother, Becky Burris spoke to 40/29 News about the incident and has filed a police report.
“That’s terrible. I think she is the strongest child ever. She composed herself better than most adults could in that situation.”
Lavaca superintendent Steve Ross has confirmed the district is close to finishing its investigation of the bus incident.
Chief Charles Toon with the Lavaca Police Department revealed that students involved could face harassment charges. Toon said he has received over 40 police statements on the bus incident and spoke with multiple witnesses.
A student at Park Hill High School has received an egregious suspension that will be over 100+ days because he confronted his teacher (who’s white) for constantly saying the N-Word, according to The Kansas City Defenders.
In the video you can see the student demanding the teacher to stop using the N-word and “don’t put it in your sentences,” to which the white teacher responds, “well you put it in yours.” The Black student says “yeah because I’m Black!” to which the white teacher responds “that’s illogical.”
The Park Hills High School teacher is still employed by the school district but has been placed on administrative leave. Many people have apparently reached out to The Kansas City Defenders claiming this isn’t the first time that this teacher has used the N-Word. The outlet also reported that the teacher has made racist jokes about Asians eating cats.
The district is investigating the incident and talking with eyewitnesses and their families. Any students or staff needing counseling following the incident are free to speak with the school’s counseling office.
