A$AP Rocky is back atop the Billboard 200 for the first time in over a decade, with the new album “DON’T BE DUMB” launching to Number One with 123,000 equivalent album units, HITS Daily Double reports.
Third No.1 for Rocky but first No.1 debut for him since ‘At.Long.Last.A$AP’ opened at No.1 way back in 2015.
The opening week was boosted by on-demand streaming of 78.02 million units plus pure album sales of 47,000 units.
Rihanna, Rocky’s partner, also celebrated the news on social media:
Coming in right behind that at No. 2 on the charts is ENHYPEN’s THE SIN: VANISH, selling 122,000 copies, mostly in terms of 113,000 in sales and 9.51 million on-demand streams. This makes it their sixth top 10 on the Billboard 200, as well as tying ROMANCE: UNTOLD as their best-performing album on the charts, as it also peaked at No. 2.
Bad Bunny’s DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS enters at No. 3, increasing by nine positions, with 119,000 units in the most recent week, plus 2.573 million units since the set’s release. Prior, the set was at No. 1 for four weeks and Nielsen reported it was their biggest vinyl week ever, including 85,000 copies sold.
Morgan Wallen’s “I’m the Problem” falls two places to No. 4 with 75,000 units, increasing its overall sales tally to 4.562 million units. The song had been No. 1 for 13 weeks.
“With Heaven On Top” by Zach Bryan falls four places to No. 5 with 70,000 units and a cumulative tally of 204,000 units. The song had been No. 1.
YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s “Slime Cry” debuts at number 6 with 70,000 units, including 72.6 million on-demand streams and 1,000 pure sales. He joins a list of artists who are able to accumulate 17 top-10s on the Billboard 200 chart. He is now tied for second-most top-10s by a US rapper with Drake.
Olivia Dean’s “The Art of Loving” slips four places to number 7, selling 56,000 units, a total of 793,000 units since its release, having previously reached number 3 on the chart.
Taylor Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl” slips four places to number 8, selling 53,000 units, a total of 5.792 million units, having been number one for 12 weeks.
The Kpop “Demon Hunters” soundtrack drops four spots to No. 9 with 47,000 units sold, totaling 2.589 million units sold so far.
The soundtrack had been at No. 1 for two weeks previously.
Madison Beer rounds out the top 10 as “locket” debuts on the chart at No. 10, selling 43,000 copies (18.89 million on-demand streams and 24,000 pure sales). It is Beer’s first top 10 album on the Billboard 200 chart.
With “DON’T BE DUMB” managing to narrowly beat out ENHYPEN’s most recent chart effort, this past week’s chart battle to the top spot was one of the most competitive we’ve seen in a while, marking a big comeback for A$AP Rocky a decade and a half since his last No. 1 debut.
