A video of Abella Danger during the ESPN College Football Playoff National Championship broadcast has gone viral.
Danger is a huge Hurricanes fan and was caught on ESPN cameras looking stressed when Miami was down 24-14 in the fourth quarter against Indiana.
Many people on social media started joking about ESPN’s priorities after they showed Abella Danger.
One person described it as”ESPN being messy.” A person wondered, “Why can’t I get this girl off my timeline?????” A third person challenged, “Get her off there, we have to stop caring about where these things go or do or any part of them. Our society depends on it.”
This video follows another popular video from Miami’s playoff series, in which Danger was seen during the Miami game against Texas A&M morphing into a mascot-like character as the Hurricanes progressed through the playoffs.
It came on a day when the Colts finished a magical season by beating Miami 27-21. The win ended a phenomenal season for the Hurricanes on a rather sour note.
Indiana opened with a field goal and led 10-0 after H-back/Fullback Riley Nowakowski scored on a 1-yard TD run. The Miami offense sputtered in the early going, going three-and-out three consecutive times and gaining only 18 yards in the first quarter. The Hurricanes failed to score in the first half after Carter Davis’ attempt at a late second-quarter field goal clanked off the uprights.
Miami awoke from the break when Mark Fletcher Jr. tore through the right side for a 57-yard TD to make it 10-7. Indiana responded with a significant special-teams play, blocking a punt and recovering it in the end zone for a TD to make it 17-7.
The response by Miami came with an 81-yard, 10-play series that culminated with Fletcher scoring his second touchdown on a 3-yard run, cutting the deficit to 17-14. Indiana responded with an important play as Mendoza capped a 75-yard, 12-play series with a 12-yard TD run on fourth down to increase the margin to 24-14.
The Hurricanes weren’t about to stop, as they got to within 24-21 on an 8-play, 91-yard drive to cap off Malachi ToToney’s2-yard TD on a jet touch pass. Indiana pushed the margin to 27-21 on a field goal, setting up the final Miami series.
Miami QB Carson Beck was able to get the offense in position after a penalty, completing an 11-yard pass to Marty Brown, a 7-yard pass to Toney, and a 6-yard pass to C.J. Daniels. However, after Indiana called their final timeout, Beck threw a pass to the left sidelines to Keelan Marion, and Jamari Sharpe intercepted in trap coverage to seal the game. Indiana ran out the clock to clinch the national championship, completing the season 16-0 as the first team in college history to finish undefeated. Miami finished the season 13-3.
