Las Vegas Aces’ star player A’ja Wilson is making waves both on and off the court as she secures a multi-year partnership with Gatorade, announced ahead of the 2024 WNBA season. The two-time MVP, fresh off leading her team to back-to-back titles, joins a prestigious roster of athletes representing the sports beverage giant.
In a statement, Jeff Kearney, head of marketing at Gatorade, expressed excitement about the addition of Wilson to their elite athlete roster, highlighting her remarkable career achievements and anticipating her continued impact in the world of sports and beyond.
Wilson’s collaboration with Gatorade marks another milestone in her burgeoning portfolio of endorsement deals. Last year, she made history as the first female athlete to partner with Ruffles and also became the inaugural WNBA player to sign with Mountain Dew. These partnerships complement her longstanding deal with Nike, initiated upon her entry into the WNBA in 2018. Additionally, Wilson recently ventured into the literary world with the release of her debut book, “Dear Black Girls.”
Wilson expressed her enthusiasm for the cooperation, “Partnering with Gatorade is a dream come true. They’ve been fueling me on and off the court since I started out, and like I’ve said before – Gatorade helped me get my MVP, for sure.”
Wilson’s on-court prowess has been instrumental in the Las Vegas Aces’ success, as evidenced by her stellar performances during the past seasons. Her remarkable statistics, including career-high averages in points, rebounds, and defensive prowess, have solidified her status as one of the league’s most dominant players.
Drafted as the No. 1 overall pick in 2018 from South Carolina, where she clinched a national championship and earned numerous accolades, Wilson has seamlessly transitioned into a WNBA powerhouse, garnering MVP honors and Defensive Player of the Year awards.
As Las Vegas gears up for the upcoming season, Wilson’s partnership with Gatorade adds another layer of anticipation. The Aces are set to face off against the Puerto Rican National Team in their lone preseason game on May 11, followed by the regular-season opener against the Phoenix Mercury on May 14, promising an electrifying start to what is expected to be another thrilling WNBA campaign.
