Alemeda and Doechii Deliver a Lethal Anthem with “Beat A B!tch Up”

Alemeda’s latest single “Beat A B!tch Up” is not only one track, but rather an anthem declaring war for the sake of love. Together with her collaborator Doechii, the two make loyalty a battlefield. Their rhymes make devotion destructive, showing that too much care equates to violent things, though metaphorically.

A Ship Staffed by Bad Bitches

The Omar Jones helmed video doesn’t so much complement the track, but redouble the effort. Shot on the shores of San Pedro harbor, Alemeda and Doechii take over a ship with an all-female crew. Forget the sailors, this ship is crewed by chaos, firework explosions, and unadulterated female supremacy.

Fireworks, Jet Skis, and a Trained Cat

Alemeda acknowledges she put everything on the line for the video’s crazy visuals: climbing on top of the jet ski without the ability to swim, requesting an educated cat on set, and raving over Doechii’s deadly beauty. “Doechii gave me direction and looked stunning. I’m obsessed with the firework scene,” Alemeda reveals.

A Zero F**ks to Give EP

This song is just a taste of the new Alemeda project coming soon But What the Hell Do I Know (Nov. 7 release). The EP pairs anarchic songs like “1-800-F**K-YOU” and “Stupid Little Bitch” with Rachel Chinouriri feature tracks. Punk, pop, indie, this is unabashed Alemeda.

From Ethiopia to Arizona, From Eyebrows to Anthems

As the oldest daughter between an East African household split between Ethiopia and Arizona, Alemeda was educated in the harsh realities of survival and loyalty. Those realities also drive her music, from her 2021 viral hit “Gonna Bleach My Eyebrows” to her 2024 FK IT EP. Critics have been declaring her to be the “rock star on the rise,” but Alemeda is not only entering the game, she’s changing the game.
