All-Star cast joins Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega for A24’s latest production Death of a Unicorne

Alex Scharfman’s directorial debut Death of a Unicorne features an all-star cast led by Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega.

The film, which is currently in post-production, stars:

• Will Poulter (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3)

• Sunita Mani (Glow)
• Jessica Hynes (Shaun of the Dead, Paddington 2)
• Stephen Park (Asteroid City)

A father (Rudd) and daughter (Ortega) accidentally hit and kill a unicorn while en route to a weekend retreat, where his billionaire boss (Grant) seeks to exploit the creature’s miraculous curative properties.

Alex Scharfman, Drew Houpt, and Lucas Joaquin of Secret Engine, Tyler Campellone, Lars Knudsen of Square Peg, Tim Headington, and Theresa Steele Page of Ley Line Entertainment are producing.
Ari Aster, Michael Williams, Jacob Epstein, David Darby, Nate Kamiya Paul Rudd, and Jenna Ortega will serve as executive producers.

Award-winning filmmaker and composer John Carpenter (Halloween), Cody Carpenter, and Daniel Davies will compose music for the film with Larry Fong (Kong: Skull Island, 300) on board as the Director of Photography, Amy Williams (Master of None) as Production Designer, Avy Kaufman (Tár) as Casting Director and Andrea Flesch (Midsommar) as Costume Designer.

A24 will handle the global release of the film. Ley Line Entertainment is co-financing the film alongside A24.
The film received a SAG-AFTRA interim agreement clearing its cast and wrapped production this summer.
