Anitta Concludes Historic 2023 with Release of “Joga pra Lua”

Brazilian sensation ANITTA concludes a groundbreaking year with the release of her latest single, “Joga pra Lua,” in collaboration with producers Pedro Sampaio and DENNIS. This marks the culmination of a historic year, filled with significant achievements and international recognition for the artist.

From her massive participation in “TikTok in The Mix,” drawing over 17,000 attendees and 33.5 million online viewers, to her live performance during the UEFA 2023 Champions League final’s Pepsi “Kick Off” Show®, where she debuted her single “Funk Rave” to millions worldwide, ANITTA has left an indelible mark.

The closing act of the year sees ANITTA collaborating with Pedro Sampaio and DENNIS on “Joga pra Lua,” a Brazilian funk anthem blending the talents of three genre stars into an irresistible dance track, known as “batidão.”

Reflecting on her foray into funk in 2023, ANITTA states, “In 2023, I ventured completely into funk. Ending the year with this song is incredibly special for me. I’ve spent months with this chorus stuck in my head… it’s delicious. It is such a summer banger. I love it. Whoever has seen TikTok in The Mix knows what I’m talking about. It immediately invites you to dance.”

The lyrics of “Joga Pra Lua” are entirely in Portuguese, creating a warm and seductive atmosphere that captures the essence of flirting while dancing to funk. ANITTA sings, “I saw you from afar/ I was tuned in/ Wanting your mouth.”

Expressing her joy in collaborating with other artists, ANITTA highlights the celebration of musical connection in “Joga pra Lua.” The track was co-written by Anitta, Pedro, and DENNIS, along with Gabriel Cantini and Shylton Fernandes. Sonically, the single seamlessly fuses Brazilian funk with electronic music, a signature blend crafted by Pedro Sampaio and DENNIS.

Pedro Sampaio, known for his previous collaborations with ANITTA, states, “Working with Anitta and DENNIS is always a pleasure. They are artists I admire and who inspire me.”

DENNIS, one of the producers of Anitta’s album “Versions of Me” (2022), adds his touch to “Joga pra Lua” following the success of their recent collaboration “MONSTRÃO.”

A visualizer video for “Joga pra Lua” is set to release on Anitta’s YouTube channel on Monday, December 18th. Filmed in Arraial do Cabo, Río de Janeiro, the video, directed by ANITTA herself, showcases a modern and sensual choreography featuring her stage dancer Ohana Lefundes against the backdrop of the moon.

ANITTA provided a preview of “Joga pra Lua” during her performance at the TikTok in the Mix festival, where she also sang her recent hits, “Funk Rave” and “Mil Veces,” and included snippets of unreleased songs like “Grip,” “I Wanna F,” and her latest duet “BELLAKEO” with Mexican artist Peso Pluma. This final release encapsulates ANITTA’s triumphant journey through 2023, firmly establishing her as a global force in the music industry.
