An Australian teen made history as the first female competitor to ever land a “720” in competition.

On Saturday, 13-year-old Arisa Trew performed two complete mid-air rotations in front of skateboarding legend Tony Hawk at the Tony Hawk Vert Alert in Salt Lake City. Tony Hawk was the first person to pull off the trick more than three decades ago.

“I can’t believe I landed my first 720!!!” and to be the first girl in the world to land a 7 in competition,” Arisa Trew wrote in her Instagram caption. “Thanks for the fun [Tony Hawk’s Vert Alert] and everyone who helped me land it!!”

Arisa Trew’s Olympic dreams of winning a medal at the Paris 2024 Games are becoming more realistic. She considers Sky Brown, Ruby Trew, and Sabre Norris to be her idols, has been competing professionally since 2021. Tony Hawk’s Vert Alert, World Skate Championships, and the X Games have all taken her around the world.

Trew, who began skating at the age of seven and is currently ranked 14th in the world, trains at the Level Up Academy & Training Facility in Queensland, which was founded by her coach Trevor Ward. Trew will compete at the X Games USA in California next month.
