After ‘Homecoming’ lost its nominations at the Emmys, Beyoncé stayed up late and made everyone their own small plastic Emmy Awards with personalised notes, according to Hannah Beachler, a production designer who worked with Beyoncé on the Netflix project.
Hannah Beachler took to Twitter to tell her story about working on Beyoncé’s ‘Homecoming’ production team.
Beachler retweeted a video of Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King giving their thoughts on Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour stop at Met Life Stadium.
“Working with Beyoncé over the years, I have said this each and every time. It’s not just on stage,” Beachler wrote on Twitter. “She is [one hundred] tentacles of light, and those tentacles wrap you in power, love, and confidence,” Beachler said. “She is kind and protective, and she’s a girls girl,” she continues. This is her daily presence.”
Beachler wasn’t done expressing her admiration for Beyoncé. “She is a true Mama to her babies, too,” she tweeted. And she works, not to perfection but until it’s right.” “She is in love with her husband and he’s (a comedian and kind) in love with her,” Beachler continues. But be clear don’t cross her.”
“When I started on Black is King & went to the L.A. offices. There was a bunch of little plastic Emmy Awards [with] hand written names on them,” Hannah Beachler tweeted. “They told me [because] they didn’t win for Homecoming, B stayed up after & made everyone their own special one [with a] note.”
Eduardo C. Fonseca, a Twitter user, commented under her tweet, “Working with this woman is like the biggest accomplishment I can think of.”
Beachler responded to the Twitter user, expressing her appreciation for working with Beyoncé. “It is a moment. I will never ever forget it, I will always be honored to have had that experience.” “Hopefully again,” Beachler continued. She is brilliant and kind. I can’t explain it, it’s other worldly. She was called to do what she does.”
‘Homecoming,’ Beyoncé’s Netflix concert film, was nominated for six Emmys, including best directing for a variety special, best variety special (prerecorded), best costumes for variety, nonfiction, or reality programming, best music direction, best production design for a variety special, and best writing for a variety special.
