Last weekend was full of happiness, tears, and friendship as Charli D’Amelio gave her dazzling performance in her final performance of & Juliet in the Sondheim Theatre in New York City. The social media sensation became a stage sensation and was sent off with a lot of emotion by her audience, her fellow cast members, and the one very special guest, her close friend Camilla Araujo.

The final performance of the pop-infused musical saw D’Amelio performing in a whole house to family, friends, and fans, all ready to watch her last bow as Charmion. Once more, the audience stood up and cheered with a standing ovation and words of “Charli!” Reverberated in the theatre.

Her cast members celebrated her during the curtain call, marking a milestone that began when she joined the production in October 2024. She was initially scheduled to leave in January 2025, but her contract was extended until September 7 due to the massive demand from the audience.

D’Amelio breathed it all in and cried as she told the crowd it had become their family. I will miss this theater each day.

Special Surprise of Camilla Araujo.

Although the evening had already been filled with emotion, the greatest unexpectedness was afterwards by the lowering of the curtain. Waiting backstage was Camilla Araujo, who came carrying a huge bunch of flowers. The model and social media star, in a clean white shirtdress and a pair of smooth black patent leather boots, embraced D’Amelio in her dressing room with its flowers.

“I’m so proud of her,” Araujo told Where Is The Buzz. “She committed herself to something so demanding, and she pulled it off with grace and joy.”

They were taken smiling, holding hands, and posing with the bouquet as photos were taken. Later, Araujo posted an intimate picture of the rear of her SUV, smiling and holding the flowers, and stated that her friend needed a decent burial.

& Juliet: A Global Hit

Played to a score of Max Martin hits and written by David West Read, & Juliet is Shakespeare having the heroine of his play rewrite her ending. The show has received nine Tony nominations since its Broadway debut in November 2022, and has since gone global, with staging in the U.K., Germany, and a new Toronto run opening this December.

The present cast in the Broadway shows features Maya Boyd as Juliet, Joey Fatone as Lance, and Drew Gehling as Shakespeare, who have kept the energy moving as the musical keeps captivating viewers daily.

Broadway to Fashion Week.

To Aaraujo, the night was not only to support a friend, but to celebrate the collision of two worlds. Although she is in town to attend New York Fashion Week with her old-time friend Julia Filippo, she elucidated what her true highlight was.

“This city is all about making special moments,” she said. “And seeing Charli shine on Broadway was one of them!”

A Night to Remember

When D’Amelio walked off the stage, this was not the first time but the final one, and it was not only the thunderous applause that was used to fraudulently capture the occasion. The presence of a friend, the happiness of an audience, and the wizardry of Broadway made her goodbye something to remember.

Juliet is still playing at the Sondheim Theatre, where the tickets can be purchased both at the box office and online. The running time is one intermission of 2 hours and 30 minutes.
