Apple TV+ has released the official trailer for its upcoming conspiracy thriller Prime Target, an eight-episode series that promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Starring SAG Award winner Leo Woodall (The White Lotus, One Day) and Quintessa Swindell (Black Adam, In Treatment), the show blends high-stakes drama with a gripping exploration of mathematics, technology, and espionage.
The series is created by Steve Thompson, an award-winning writer known for his work on Sherlock and Vienna Blood. Produced by New Regency in collaboration with Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions, the show will debut globally on Apple TV+ on January 22 with its first two episodes. New episodes will be released weekly every Wednesday, culminating on March 5.
A Thrilling Premise
At the heart of Prime Target is Edward Brooks, a gifted young mathematics postgraduate portrayed by Woodall. On the brink of a groundbreaking discovery—deciphering a pattern in prime numbers that could unlock every computer system on the planet—Edward finds himself thrust into a dangerous world. Unseen forces are determined to destroy his work, putting not only his research but also his life in jeopardy.
His unlikely ally is Taylah Sanders, an NSA agent played by Swindell, whose job is to surveil mathematicians like Edward. As the two begin to unravel a web of conspiracy, they are drawn deeper into a mystery that challenges the boundaries of trust, security, and the pursuit of knowledge.
An All-Star Cast
The series boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Academy Award nominee Stephen Rea (The Crying Game), BAFTA Award nominee David Morrissey (Sherwood, The Walking Dead), Emmy Award winner Martha Plimpton (The Regime), and BAFTA Award winner Sidse Babett Knudsen (Borgen). Other notable actors include Jason Flemyng (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones), Ali Suliman (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), Fra Fee (Rebel Moon, Hawkeye), and Joseph Mydell (The Eternal Daughter).
Creative Powerhouses Behind the Scenes
Prime Target comes from an elite team of producers and creators. Steve Thompson not only created the series but also serves as an executive producer. The show is produced for Apple TV+ by New Regency, with Ed Rubin, Beth Pattinson, Emma Broughton, Yariv Milchan, Arnon Milchan, and Michael Schaefer among its executive producers.
Scott Free Productions, helmed by legendary filmmaker Ridley Scott, also plays a major role in the series’ production. Marina Brackenbury, David W. Zucker, and Scott himself serve as executive producers. Brady Hood, acclaimed for his work on Top Boy and Great Expectations, directed all eight episodes, with Laura Hastings-Smith also serving as executive producer.
