On Super Bowl Sunday, fans were treated to a sneak peek into the beautiful kingdom of Oz with the unveiling of the first teaser for the highly awaited “Wicked” film adaptation.

Jon M. Chu will direct the two-part spectacular, which promises to bring the renowned Broadway musical to life like never before.

The teaser provides a captivating insight into Chu’s vision of Oz, with Cynthia Erivo playing the feisty Elphaba and Ariana Grande portraying the beautiful Glinda. As the movie progresses, viewers are given a tantalizing glimpse of Erivo’s stunning interpretation of “Defying Gravity,” a song that has gripped fans for years.

Michelle Yeoh stars as Madame Morrible, and Jonathan Bailey portrays the charming Fiyero. The teaser teases a visually breathtaking voyage infused with magic, music, and a timeless tale.

For Broadway fans eagerly anticipating a film rendition of “Wicked,” the trailer is an exciting preview. Universal bought the rights to the stage phenomenon in 2012, causing widespread anticipation and excitement.

Last spring, filmmaker Chu released the first character shots, giving fans a look at the legendary leading witches Elphaba and Glinda.

“Wicked: Part One” will hit theaters this Thanksgiving, marking the start of an epic cinematic journey. With a sequel planned for 2025, fans may expect to delve deeper into Oz’s enchanted land in the coming years.
