A game between Duke and North Carolina is always expected to have all the drama. But on Saturday night, the focus of the drama wasn’t entirely on the game.
CeCe Boozer, mom of Duke freshmen Cameron Boozer and Cayden Boozer, and ex-wife of Duke legend Carlos Boozer, went viral for rocking a custom Boozer-themed outfit and dancing hard during the game against No. 14 North Carolina at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
A picture everywhere shows CeCe Boozer hyping up the crowd and twirling around in the stands in her tracksuit featuring her boys. There is another picture from the night showing her rocking a bold jacket featuring the word “BOOZER” on the back, along with a picture of one of her sons mid-dribble.
It is safe to say that the moment went viral as the video racked up over 500,000 views.
The name Boozer is synonymous with Duke basketball. Carlos Boozer was a star player from 1999 to 2002, helped lead the Blue Devils to a national championship in 2001, and went on to become an NBA All-Star. Today,it’ss Carlos’s twin five-star recruits, Cameron and Cayden Boozer, carrying on the family legacy in Durham.
For some basketball fans, CeCe Boozer’s presence brought another dimension to the storied Tobacco Road rivalry between Duke and UNC. The two teams have faced off more than 250 times, with UNC holding a 143-114 lead heading into their 2026 matchup.
Social media erupted in jokes, memes, and light-hearted comments.
“I didn’t know Carlos Boozer had that kind of pull,” one fan posted.
“Carlos, I wasn’t familiar with your game,” another fan responded.
Some fans even speculated this could be the beginning of a long list of appearances as the Boozer boys’ basketball careers continue.
“Lol yeah I was gonna wait and say she’d be trending on draft night just like I did with Dylan Harper’s mom, but the secret’s out now,” a fan posted.
Other comments were more backhanded, such as “With all due respect.”
Even a joke about a popular meme surfaced in comments: “She looks like Teanna… yeah, y’all know the one.”
