Chappell Roan just started her U.S. pop-up shows for the Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things tour at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, and the energy was already insane. Then, mid-performance, she suddenly realizes she’s onstage in nothing but a thong. She literally stops, looks at the giant screen behind her, sees her entire a** in HD, and blurts out:
“Oh my god I forgot my bottom was just a thong. I looked up on the screen, I saw my a** and I was like it’s gone.”

Like… camp. Pop icon behavior. Pure diva chaos.
Stan Twitter Had a Field Day
The clip went viral in like, five minutes. The way people were tweeting had me crying:
- “Chappell Roan realizing her whole a** is out mid-song is the most relatable queen behavior I’ve ever seen.”
- “We didn’t just pay for a concert. We paid for history. That thong deserves a Grammy.”
- “She gave us vocals, flames, and full cheeks. A true pop star.”
- “This is how legends are made. Britney had the snake, Gaga had the meat dress, Chappell has the thong.”
- “Forget Hot to Go! this was Thong to Go!”
Like sorry, but she literally just cemented herself in the Pop Culture Hall of Fame.
A Comeback That Feels Personal
The thong moment was iconic, but the whole show was a reset button for Chappell. After a rough end to 2024, canceling shows for her mental health, getting dragged online for being too outspoken, and basically stepping away from the internet, she came back stronger, shinier, and like… fully on fire (literally, there were flames onstage).
The stadium was filled with fans in pink cowboy hats and Lady Liberty crowns, and when she tried to teach everyone the “H-O-T-T-O-G-O” dance, the crowd didn’t even need instructions. They already knew.
Bangers, Vocals, and Full Camp
The setlist was stacked: “Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl,” “Femininomenon,” “After Midnight,” “The Subway” (which just hit No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100), and of course “Good Luck, Babe!” the song that basically launched her into main pop girl status.
She wriggled across the floor to a cover of Heart’s “Barracuda,” serenaded a wig-topped mic stand for “Picture You,” and turned the entire stadium into a rainbow during “Kaleidoscope.” Like, no one is doing it like her.
Why She’s That Girl
But what makes her different is that she’ll be serving vocals and visuals one second, and then breaking character to announce her whole a** is on display the next. Later, she even paused to tell the crowd: “I just needed a place like this so bad when I was 13, 14. I wanted to dress up however I wanted and look weird. You are cherished.”
I’m sorry but when she says things like that, she’s not just a pop star, she’s literally creating a safe space for people to be weird and fabulous.
The Thong Era Has Begun
Chappell Roan is officially entering her “everything I do goes viral” era. After NYC, she’s headed to Kansas City and then closing out with two nights in Los Angeles. New music is coming, but for now the thong is legend.
Britney had the snake. Gaga had the meat dress. Chappell Roan has the thong.
