Director Elizabeth Banks defends reboots & blames men for #CharliesAngels  flopping with $8.6M domestically on a $55 million dollar budget.

‘You’ve had 37 Spider-Man movies’

It reinforces a stereotype in Hollywood that men don’t go see women do action movies’

Personally, Charlie’s Angel was the biggest surprise of the year. It was entertaining and non-stop fun from beginning to end. A kick-ass action comedy that celebrates female empowerment. Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, & Ella Balinska are terrific together.

The problem is it was so promoted terribly and the trailers from the movie did it no justice. The critics also didn’t do the movie no justice.

I pray to God that people don’t start saying that women can’t be directors because their movies will not be successful. If you are one of those people please kindly go f*ck yourself. Lena Waithe and Melina Matsoukas will be releasing a masterpiece in Queen & Slim on November 29th.
