There’s a Detroit shout-out at the start of “The High Note” trailer starring Tracee Ellis Ross and Dakota Johnson.
Focus Features released the first trailer for the anticipated The High Note starring Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey) and Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish). Ross displays a multitude of talents with the singing and dancing as a diva. Johnson plays a loveable personal assistant who seeks her way to the top.
The film also stars Kelvin Harrison Jr. (Luce), Ice Cube (Friday), Zoe Chao (Where’d You Go, Bernadette), Eddie Izzard (Ocean’s Thirteen), Bill Pullman (Independence Day) and Diplo in this charming comedy. Nisha Ganatra (Late Night) directed the movie from the screenplay written by Flora Greeson (Queen for a Day).
This is a great role for Tracee Ellis Ross to pay homage to her mother Diana Ross in a movie.
