This is the second consecutive year ABC News produced a special to honor the history and significance of the Juneteenth tradition. In 2020, ABC News’ primetime special “Juneteenth: A Celebration of Overcoming” was the No. 1 program across the board in its time slot. It is currently streaming on Hulu. “Soul of a Nation” and its respective specials on the year after George Floyd’s murder and observance of Juneteenth are the latest original programming from ABC News, which has a renewed focus on telling diverse stories across the news division.
Chloe Bailey performed Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good” on ABC’s ‘Juneteenth: Together We Triumph’ special.
Many on social media believed Chloe Bailey resembled Beyonce during her performance that aired tonight.

Others believe it was a let down of Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good” because they claim it was too sexual.
Chloe Bailey ate that shit 🔥🔥 and she is absolutely gorgeous…however, everything don’t need to be sexual. There’s a time and place. Wrong song. Lol that’s all.

I don’t like how Chloe over sexualized this rendition of Nina Simone’s “Feelin’ Good,” like who thought that was ok?!?!?! I hope black Twitter let her have it🙄😂 #SoulOfANation

Many like the performance but felt like Chloe was doing a little too much.

Wow… of all the ways Nina Simone's, "Feeling Good" could have been celebrated smh #SoulofaNation #abc #juneteenth wildly inappropriate for the song and the moment

Nina Simone always supported black womens liberation and she would’ve probably supported Chloe Baileys performance.
Simone said herself said she wanted Black women to be confident, in control, and defining themselves. Chloe Bailey was feeling free while performing her song.
Who knows how Nina Simone would have felt about Chloe Bailey performance? The song is called “Feeling Good” and Chloe Bailey looks like she was having a fun time doing what she loves.
