Crunchyroll, together with Aniplex, has dropped an epic new trailer for Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow-, which gives a thrilling look at what is next for Sung Jinwoo. The highly anticipated season will make its global debut on Crunchyroll in January 2025.
The trailer shows stunning shots from the upcoming season, fronted by the opening theme song, “ReawakeR.” Contributing to the track are J-pop star LiSA and K-pop group Stray Kids’ Felix, with compositions done by Attack on Titan and Promare composer Hiroyuki Sawano. Sawano also returns as the soundtrack composer, promising another electric score.
Adapted from Chugong’s best-selling Korean web novel, Solo Leveling follows the rise of Sung Jinwoo, once the world’s weakest hunter. After surviving a deadly dungeon raid and gaining the System, a mysterious leveling mechanism only he can access, Jinwoo embarks on a journey of transformation. With new powers in hand, he plunges deeper into the mysteries lying behind the dungeons and his changing abilities.
Season 2’s synopsis teases higher stakes as gates into other dimensions continue to threaten mankind. Jinwoo, in this season, is now a full-fledged Shadow Monarch with an army of spectral minions, fighting to gather the Elixir of Life and heal his ailing mother.
A-1 Pictures animates the series, the studio behind Sword Art Online, and directed by Shunsuke Nakashige (Sword Art Online Alicization War of Underworld).
While fans wait for the new season, they can currently stream the first season of Solo Leveling exclusively on Crunchyroll. The feature film Solo Leveling -ReAwakening- will also be released in theaters worldwide starting December 6, continuing the series in a cinematic manner.
