Prosecutors have disclosed new information regarding the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas. The information shows that the rising R&B artist named D4vd, aged 21, allegedly murdered Rivas using a sharp instrument, based on the court documents. In addition, the medical examiner has determined that the death was a case of homicide.
Rivas was reported missing after she visited D4vd’s house in April 2025 and never returned alive. It is believed that she was murdered at that time, although her body was moved and concealed by the accused after the murder. This hindered the early investigations into the disappearance of the teen.
According to the court documents, D4vd and Rivas had a sexual relationship, which began when she was 13 years old, one year before her death. Furthermore, the prosecutor claims that Rivas threatened to tell people about the secret sexual relationship, which occurred before her murder.
Moreover, it took several months for her remains to be discovered, hence complicating the investigation process.
The artist known as D4vd, but not identified by his legal name, has been arrested and charged with murder. In addition, the prosecution is filing a special-circumstances charge in this case, which can result in severe sentencing, including life imprisonment without parole.
The singer’s defense claims innocence of the allegations.
