Darnella Frazier, who was just 17 years old when she recorded George Floyd’s murder, was named a recipient of a Pulitzer Prize special citation on Friday for filming her video that “spurred protests against police brutality around the world, highlighting the crucial role of citizens in journalists’ quest for truth and justice.” The Pulitzer Prizes are presented annually by Columbia University to recognize excellence in journalism and the arts.
