According to NBA Insider Shams Charania, Cousins is active for Game 1 of the NBA Finals after tearing his quad in the first round against the Clippers. However, many are debating whether his return will help or hinder the Warriors, who have found success without Cousins and Durant.

The Warriors have outscored opponents by 4.5 points per 100 possessions with DeMarcus Cousins on the floor this season. That jumps up to +8.1 when he sits.

In 25 minutes with Cousins on the court in the playoffs, the Warriors have a 75.4 offensive rating (117.6 without him). Demarcus doesn’t help stretch out the floor for Golden State and he also clogs up the lane to take away drives from his teammates like Curry, Thompson, Livingston, and Iguodala.

Demarcus is one of the best big man in the league when healthy. He can give you a 25 points and at least 12 rebounds in any outing. He can also shoot the three ball confidently and decent.

Assuming he plays, Cousins will be the 1st player from Kentucky coached by John Calipari to play in the NBA Finals.
