Disney’s live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid is set to start production this April. They have already found their Ariel, Prince Eric, and the rest of the main cast. They are currently finishing up casting minor roles such as Ariel sisters.
Disney is looking to cast Ariel’s sisters, Attina, Alana, Adella, Aquata, Arista and Andrina. The DisInsider, also reported that they have been told that they are casting women of color for these roles.
DisInsider says that the studio is quoting Zendaya to be Ariel’s sister, among the favorites to embody the characters, are Zendaya, Keke Palmer and Chloe Bailey, sister of the protagonist Halle Bailey.

Ariel should interact with her sisters more in the live action and they should sing a song together.
Gugu Mbatha-Raw is also rumored to be possibly being considered for the role of Athena, Ariel’s mother. This hasn’t been confirmed yet but people would love it.
