Dr. Cornel West and Professor Tricia Rose have joined the world of podcasting. SpkerBox Media will launch the professors’ new show, The Tight Rope, on Thursday, July 23 with guest US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Other early guests on the podcast include Daveed Diggs, Isaiah Thomas and Michael Moore.
In weekly episodes, Dr. West and Dr. Rose engage in unfiltered conversations with guests ranging from celebrities to community activists, encouraging listeners to adjust their moral compasses and find equilibrium in this tumultuous world.
“We knew bringing Dr. West and Professor Rose together would be magic,” says SpkerBox Co-Founder and CEO Jeremy Berry. “One would be hard-pressed to find a more towering pair of intellectuals that can traverse this line of dialogue as skillfully as they do.”
“We aim to create a space in which people feel as though they can bring their full selves and have a challenging but also embracing and connecting conversation,” says Dr. Rose of the new show and its mission.
Speaking of connecting conversation, the doctors and The Tight Rope team knew immediately that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez of New York, who is a mainstay in conversations around activism in politics, was the perfect guest to introduce the podcast to the world.
“What a great start with such a grand figure! AOC’s humanity, humor and humility shines so brightly! Her future in public life is limitless!!” says Dr. Cornel West.
Tune in to The Tight Rope weekly on Thursdays on YouTube!
