Since its release, Elemental has become the most-watched animated movie premiere since Disney and Pixar’s Turning Red was released in March 2022.
Additionally, it holds the title of the most-viewed Disney+ movie premiere of all time in Latin America, surpassing Turning Red.
The movie also achieved significant success in theaters, earning $484 million worldwide and receiving a 93% Rotten Tomatoes Verified Audience Score and an “A” CinemaScore.
Domestically, it generated $154 million, which is more than five times its opening weekend earnings of $30 million, an impressive accomplishment for any theatrical release.
Internationally, the film brought in $330 million and performed exceptionally well in South Korea, making it Pixar’s most-watched film in the country.
Disney and Pixar’s movie Elemental made its debut on streaming platforms in a spectacular manner.
It has quickly become the most-watched movie premiere of the year on Disney+ and ranks among the top 10 movie premieres of all time, accumulating 26.4 million views within its first five days of streaming.
Directed by Peter Sohn, produced by Denise Ream, and executive produced by Pete Docter, this original film is set in Element City, where residents of Fire, Water, Earth, and Air coexist.
The story revolves around Ember, a quick-witted and fiery character voiced by Leah Lewis, and her friendship with Wade, a more laid-back character voiced by Mamoudou Athie. Their relationship not only challenges Ember’s beliefs about the world they live in but also shapes her personal growth.
The screenplay for Elemental was written by John Hoberg & Kat Likkel and Brenda Hsueh, with the story being developed by Sohn, Hoberg & Likkel, and Hsueh.
The voice cast includes Ronnie del Carmen, Shila Ommi, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Catherine O’Hara, Mason Wertheimer, and Joe Pera.
