Emily Ratajkowski Reveals She Kept 3 to 4 Men at Once After Divorce: ‘I Used It as an Emotional Shield’

Emily Ratajkowski has opened up about her divorce and discussed how it affected her life, especially her sexual relations, relationships with men, and her view of herself. She described everything in her personal essay published on The Cut, a platform affiliated with New York magazine.

In her essay, signed under her byline, Emily explained that her sexual intimacy with her husband ended when her child was six months old. As she admitted, before the divorce, she had had sex with only eight partners in her life and never went on a one-night stand.

“After the divorce, I hated how people looked at me with pity and slapped me with the ‘abandoned single mom’ label so much that I deliberately wanted to destroy the ‘good girl’ image inside me and transform into a full-on supervillain,” she wrote.

The actress explains that sex helped her restore her image. “Honestly, I tried to slip into a brand-new female identity by having sex,” she wrote.

Emily confessed that she used a few male friends to protect herself emotionally and avoid falling in love because she kept up to three to four men.

However, Emily admits that such behavior made her feel distant and even detached from the action during intimacy. She says that she felt numb and even began to stare at the ceiling while wondering what she was doing there. “I realized I wasn’t getting any pleasure from sex at all,” she wrote.

Furthermore, she noted some difficulties she faced while dating, being a mother, and explaining to the other party about her son, which filtered many potential partners who backed off out of fear or curiosity.

Emily also admitted that many of the men she dated were not really interested in her personality but simply wanted to be recognized as “the guy who was with Emily Ratajkowski.”

The actress is raising her son with her ex-husband, film producer Sebastian Bear-McClard. Their divorce was finalized in 2023.
