The internet detectives are hard at work again. With the cover of GTA 6 finally revealed by Rockstar Games, fans are sure they have uncovered the true identity of the cover girl, or at least one of the people who know how to ride the hype.
The event took place when Rockstar Games broke the record of their longest silence since the second teaser trailer, which was shared on a rather silent Thursday. According to the news, pre-orders will be available starting June 25th; however, no information has been revealed about the much-debated $100 price tag.
It is safe to assume that the company managed to retain the traditional design features of the cover, such as teaser of two playable characters, a helicopter, and the cover art girl, of course.
This part of the process immediately attracted the attention of GTA fans, as, due to the lawsuit between Lindsay Lohan and Rockstar Games over GTA V, there were concerns that the cover art girl might be connected to anyone.
As expected, the GTA subreddit reacted quickly, and user L330Reddit suggested the name of a Venezuelan influencer, DJ, and model, Gabriela Chiquin, better known online as Chiquin.
Initially, people believed that Chiquin was doing an urgent cosplay to attract attention. However, after reviewing her posts, it is clear that the most fitting photo was posted in 2024, before the new game’s release, so it is not a Photoshop trick.
The similarity between the images is rather obvious: both women wear green sports tops with quite similar hairstyles and faces.
Whether this is a coincidence or not remains to be seen. However, it seems that Chiquin herself is interested in the matter. She pinned the aforementioned post to the top of her Instagram and added a caption that read, “They say I look like the brunette in GTA VI.”
The truth about the cover girl remains undisclosed, and there may be none; however, Chiquin seems to be enjoying the hype around the game. Whatever it is, it is safe to assume that this is just one of the many cover art girl tributes to come before the release of GTA 6.
