DreamWorks Animation is going to rekindle the magic of How to Train Your Dragon with a visually stunning live-action reimagining of this animated masterpiece. From the brilliant mind of Dean DeBlois, a three-time Oscar® nominee and the creative force behind the critically acclaimed How to Train Your Dragon trilogy, who wrote, directed, and produced the film, this cinematic treasure takes flight to theaters everywhere on June 13.
A Timeless Story Reimagined
Set on the rugged Viking isle of Berk, where humans and dragons have clashed for generations, the story introduces Hiccup-voiced by Mason Thames, The Black Phone-a resourceful yet underestimated young man who challenges the status quo. Hiccup’s unexpected bond with a Night Fury dragon named Toothless turns him into an unlikely hero and threatens to rewrite the very fabric of Viking society.
The live-action remake brings back Gerard Butler as Stoick the Vast, Hiccup’s unwavering yet traditional father. Nico Parker (Dumbo, The Last of Us) breathes audacity and heart into Astrid, the stubborn warrior who stands alongside Hiccup. Joining the cast, Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead) is charming in the eccentric Gobber, a blacksmith able to dole out wisdom and humor in equal measure.
When an ancient threat becomes real and puts the human and dragon worlds at risk, Hiccup and Toothless must navigate it and forge a path toward peace in a world built on fear and misunderstanding.

This live-action reimagining boasts an incredibly talented cast:
