“Fishtank” Season 4 Finalist Ellie Dies at 19, Sister Confirms

Former contestant Eleanor Moon from Season 4 of “Fishtank” has passed away at age 19, according to her sister.

Ellie’s sister announced Ellie’s passing, noting that Ellie died in May, and the family asked people to let the matter rest and respect their privacy as they mourned in peace, away from any rumors that might have circulated online.

Ellie’s sister disclosed that she took her life in suicide. She mentioned that Ellie battled with suicidal tendencies from childhood and was possibly suffering from some form of untreated mental disorder. She also denied reports that suggested that she overdosed or used illegal substances prior to her demise.

She clearly stated that neither Ellie’s participation in “Fishtank” nor her interactions with the show’s production team had anything to do with the cause of her death.

“Let me be clear, Jet, Fishtank, and the whole thing had nothing to do with her taking her life,” she wrote.

According to the press release, Ellie was excited to participate in the show and considered her stay in the house one of the most significant moments of her life. The sister also thanked the “Fishtank” crew for the support that they extended to the grieving family.

Ellie joined “Fishtank” at the age of 18, becoming the first contestant in Season 4 of the show. She was among the youngest contestants and became more aggressive as the season progressed, starting to talk to other contestants.

Ellie stayed in the competition until the end of Season 4, which was cut short on Day 18. The season concluded prematurely on June 30, 2025, due to legal issues at all three filming locations. All the finalists received an $8,000 grand prize each.

It is the third death of a former “Fishtank” contestant that was made public, while the second cast member died this week. It is SuzieSmalls of Season 5, called “Freeloader” on the show, who died on July 13th.
